VIRTUAL QUEUING:
To cut down the amount of time you spend standing in a queue we have introduced a virtual queuing system. When you join the end of a guest's queue you will be handed a ticket with a number on it. Once you have your ticket you will then be free to wander around the event or join other queues. Ticket numbers will then be announced (in batches of around 50) once the previous group of people have their autographs, and you can then join the much smaller queue. A list of the latest queuing numbers will be posted on wipeboards near the signing areas and main entrance. Once your number has been called there will of couse still be some queuing involved! Waiting times will vary between the guests, but we will try to keep the time down to around 30 - 45 minutes (however this is very much dependant on the amount of time each person spends talking to the actor, how many items they are having signed, etc, and so these times are only a rough estimate). We will only issue one ticket per person, and only a ticket holder will be able to join the queue once their number is called. If you are planning to accompany someone (to take photographs or help carry bags, etc) you will still need a ticket, even if you are not planning on getting an autograph yourself. This will also apply to adults accompanying children. We do advise that you try to get there early if there is a guest you are particularly keen to meet. Tickets for the virtual queues will not be issued until the show opening times, however please be aware that queues to enter the building and collect queue tickets will begin forming beforehand. The virtual queuing system will only be running for the most popular / busy guests, so there will still be plenty of opportunity to meet many of the other actors appearing at the London Film and Comic Con!
PHOTOGRAPHING THE GUESTS / USE OF VIDEO CAMERAS:
We recognise that getting a photo with a guest can be a highlight to any fans day. Therefore, when you meet the guest to obtain your autograph, there is no further charge for taking a photo with them. However it does sometimes become necessary to stop photos in order that the guests can get through and meet more people, otherwise there would be fans that would go home not having met them at all. Please also bear in mind that whilst guests are generally happy to pose for photos with fans, there may be occasions where they decline. If this happens please do respect their wishes. The use of video cameras is permitted in the dealers area, although we would advise asking someone's permission before filming them. All we ask is that you use your discretion and not film anyone that doesn't want to be filmed (this goes for fans, staff and dealers as well as guests). Videoing is NOT allowed into guest talks. This is for a number of reasons both legal and practical.
AUTOGRAPHS:
There will be a charge for each actor's autograph. This will generally be between £10 - £25 per signature depending on which guest. You can have this autograph on one of a selection of 8"X10" photographs available free at the event, or on your own items. (Please note: Charges are for the autographs themselves, so apply to personal items as well as available photographs. Paying for an autograph does not guarantee you will be able to chat or be photographed with the guest.) It is sometimes necessary to limit the number of autographs per person. This is to help as many fans as possible to meet the guests. If this limit is neccessary we will endeavour to put up signs making everyone aware of this.
FREE GUEST TALKS
We have a large number of guest talks running throughout the weekend. Although these are free, seating is limited so tickets will be needed. These are being handed out from dedicated areas. To make things as fair as possible for everyone we are only issuing one ticket per person, and tickets will be needed for everyone attending the talk, including children who require their own seat. We have set up seperate queues for issuing the various tickets, so please check signs around the ticket collection areas to ensure you are in the right queue. We will be issuing tickets on a first come first served basis. Talks are approx 30 minutes long, with 10 minute gaps to change over audiences. We would ask that you keep the exit clear to allow other fans to enter and exit the talk area as quickly and easily as possible. Audiences will be asked to leave the seated area after each talk finishes, even if they have tickets for the next talk. We would ask that you limit photography to the first few minutes of the talk. We’re afraid that videoing is not permited.
If you have any further questions over the weekend, please don’t hesitate to ask a member of our crew around the hall or at the organisers booth. After the event comments and queries can be posted on the Showmasters forum (www.showmastersonline.com/forums/) or e-mailed directly to us at info@showmastersonline.com.
