Jason Momoa is huge. In every sense of the word. The six foot four actor has played some pretty amazing parts on TV, and is about to rocket into the stratosphere.

Starting off from the humble beginnings of Baywatch, Honolulu born Momoa joined the cast at the end of the run, starring as Jason Ioane from 1999 to 2001. From there he appeared in hotel drama North Shore, which ran for just one season, from 2004-5.

And then, wait for it…Ronon Dex smashed onto our screens in season two of Stargate: Atlantis, and Momoa would never again be that pretty guy from Baywatch. Ronon became a fan-favourite among Stargate fans for his dry wit. A man of few words, he preferred to shoot first and ask questions…well, never. Ronon captured the hearts of many during his arrival on Atlantis, but the show was cruelly cancelled after five seasons.

From Stargate to Game of Thrones, Momoa took on the meaty role of Khal Drogo, everyone’s favourite Dothraki. Drogo managed to acquire himself a Khaleesi who would turn out to be none other than the Mother of Dragons, so he did alright for himself there. Killing her selfish brother for treating her badly, he fights, raids and pillages his way across Essos, with his Khaleesi at his side. That is until he is gravely injured in battle and ends up an empty shell after an infection and a pretty shady blood magic deal. He is killed in an act of mercy, much to the despair of Daenerys…and the rest of the planet. Drogo is seen in just ten episodes of the show, but makes a massive impact.

Momoa is also talented behind the camera, writing, producing, directing and starring in film drama Road to Paloma (2014).

After his exit from Game of Thrones, Momoa landed himself the role of a lifetime, as DC’s Aquaman, first as a cameo appearance in Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, released in 2016, and then in Justice League, released in November 2017. Momoa will reprise the role in Aquaman, due to be released in 2018.
